The biggest benefit of this is not in fact that your surfboard repair will harden without you having to mix any chemicals, catalysts or hardeners fiddling with extra bottles and tubes. Solarez not requiring any of these.
Solarez only uses light. So the biggest benefit comes from being able to work on your repair, in the shade, doing the most comprehensive job in preparation and execution.
So in terms of the repair process you can take your time out of the sun, cutting away damage, sanding down protrusions, preparing the surrounding surface. You can cut to size any fibreglass cloth that’s needed.
Prepare your repair. Apply Solarez. Do everything you need to do. Then expose to sun. In 3 minutes your repair is hard
This may sound the same as with any standard repair process. However, while still in the shade, you can then apply the resin.
You can take time to work the resin into your repair. If the hole covers extra area use our UV ultra lightweight filler. Poke around, check that there are no air bubbles. Pop and fill any that appear. You can ensure resin fills in all the nooks and crannies. That it’s all sitting flush. Flat to the edges and doesn’t slope unevenly.
If your board is angled, if the resin’s not going where’ planned, you’ve got time to prop it up and level the repair.
Laying the fibreglass on top you can work the resin into the cloth. With the resin applied you can ensure your repair is all according to plan. If the resin’s settled, apply more. The fibreglass cloth’s puckered? So smooth it. If it’s moved, position it back into place.
You can take your time to get it right. Get it perfect.

When ready simply expose to direct sunlight or UV light. Cleaning up? Simply put the cap back on the Solarez tube and you’re ready for next time
